What: Sounds from the DIY music movement on http://www.last.fm/music/Crass

Why: Discover this punk music manifesto from the ‘70s, where bands launched a movement against all things capitalist —they made their own sound, recorded their own labels, and performed in basements. Check out Crass, the band that started it all, and for a new sound, visit myspace.com/axai.

When: You want your music from scratch.

What: Private Pilot’s Training course, Bombay Flying Club, Juhu, Rs. 4 lakhs for the complete six month program.

Why: You learn to man a Cessna 152 and 172 with the cool glass cockpit. Need we say more?

When: Flying solo is the way to go.

Why? Watch Andy Warhol-style art pop out of fabric bales at this cloth store, visited by A-list fashion designers and movie stylists.

When: Your wardrobe feels blue.

What: Ladies tailor, Patel Compound, ground floor, Napeansea Road, opposite CAC, Rs 150 to Rs 300.

Why? The only thing harder than affording a designer dress these days, is finding a tailor who does a good rip off. Enter Anti-meltdown Masterji: give Dharmendra a dress sample, and he'll clone it for a pittance.

When: You need a stitch in time to save dimes.
