Ankle-deep in Converse-ation

Check out our new website at www.bpbweekend.com!

A Shoe-In!

Mumbai’s new Converse store might not be as hip as some of its global counterparts, but its stock would make a sneaker-aficionado do a happy jig. Ranging from basic to funky, the shoes are surprisingly well-priced: the classic versions cost only Rs 999, and bring back nostalgic memories of college. We couldn’t resist buying them, just for kicks.

If you’re looking for something fancier, jazzy pairs with prints and crazy lace formations are also available. Unfortunately, the new to-die-for Chuck Tailor All Star Sequins shoes are plastered across the walls, but missing in action from the shelves. We were promised that a shiny new shipment would be in next week. So footsie with the hottest one of the lot must wait, but you’ll find plenty others to pair up with until they arrive.

Head to Toe

In addition to footwear, the store stocks caps, duffel bags, laptop cases and clothes for men and women. Check out their high-waisted pin striped pants (Rs 900), comfy tracks (Rs 999) and preppy, light sweaters in black and white (Rs 800), perfect for a Mumbai winter.

Don’t Walk Past
If you’re still not impressed, the store’s current offer is sure to put a hitch in your stride: get a laptop bag, a pair of classic sneakers and two T-shirts worth Rs 5,000 for Rs 2,000! Until December 3.
